INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 18, 2015) — More than 750 Indianapolis girls lined up Saturday afternoon to find the perfect prom dress.

For the third year in a row, Lesley West, the wife of Indianapolis Pacers forward, David West, held her prom dress giveaway for Indianapolis teens who might not otherwise be able to afford a dress.

The girls were invited to Bankers Life Fieldhouse where they were able to shop, get fitted and then take the dresses home.

“This is something that doesn’t happen every day,” West said. “You don’t have someone willing to come out and give away dresses – not any old dress – top of the line dresses.”

She started the program in New Orleans and continued it here in Indy when her husband joined the Pacers.

“It’s a very full feeling. I get overwhelmed sometimes. I think I shed a few tears this morning because today is a little bit different. Instead of doing it like a field trip, we have parents here too,” she said.
