Saturday morning Police Action Shooting in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (March 21, 2015) — The Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Saturday morning in Clay County.

Just after 9 a.m., police got a call from 60-year-old Gary Page, requesting police to come to his home in the 1400 block of Voorhees Street so “they could shoot him”.

Clay County dispatch got a phone call a short time later saying that Page “has a firearm and was going crazy”.

When deputies came in contact with Page, he pointed is firearm at them and other people who were on the scene as well.

Deputies were then force to stop Page’s lethal actions towards those at the scene by firing at Page.

Page suffered from gunshot wounds and was given first aid by officers on the scene while they waited for an ambulance.

He was then transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital where he later died.

State Police are currently investigating the situation and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
