INDIANAPOLIS (March 11, 2015) – A family was not home when a fire ripped through an Indianapolis residence Wednesday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, the home in the 1300 block of West Congress Avenue caught fire around 8:20 a.m. Firefighters said it likely started in a utility room. The house will be torn down by the end of the day, and crews said some of the nearby houses were damaged. Neighbors told CBS4 they heard a “boom” before the fire started.
Damage was estimated at $50,000. The fire remains under investigation.
