Victim in serious but stable condition after Walmart parking lot shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 4, 2015)– A person was shot in a west side Walmart parking lot Wednesday night. Police┬áreceived a call of shots fired in the 5900 block of Westbury North Drive at around 7:30 p.m.

A few minutes later, officers received a call of a person shot at the 5600 block of Whitcomb Terrace. The victim stated he was shot at in the Walmart parking lot.

Police located the victim’s vehicle, which had numerous bullet holes.

A suspect has been detained. Investigators do not believe this shooting was random. Police say the suspect and victim know each other.

The victim is listed in serious but stable condition.
