INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 28, 2015) — On Saturday, a group of kids were sent home with a clean bill of dental health.

Saturday marked the last day of children’s dental health month.

Pecar Dental Clinic on North Michigan Street held a free clinic for parents looking to take care of their children’s teeth.

The Marion County Health Department reminds parents any child up to 19 years of age an all prenatal patients are eligible for dental services through their agency.

“52 million hours of school is lost due to dental emergencies and dental appointments,” said Dr. Charles Gray. “So this is why it is important for kids to get regular dental checkups. There’s lots of treatments we can do today to prevent dental disease.”

Those services are offered at a minimal cost and if specialized care is needed, patients would be referred to outside resources.
