Officials confirm death of second child after father attacks family in Paoli
PAOLI, Ind. (Feb. 12, 2015)– A second child has died as a result of a shooting in Paoli.
Leon Gehl, 6, was shot on Tuesday by his father, Jeremy Gehl. Leon was taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. The Jefferson County Coroner’s office in Kentucky confirmed he passed away Thursday.
Leon and his sister, 3-year-old Addison Randolph were fatally shot by their father during a domestic dispute, in which Gehl had attacked Melissa Randolph, 33, with a knife and later took his own life.
Melissa Randolph suffered several knife wounds, but survived. A third child was not injured in the attack.
