INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 12, 2015)– Franklin Central High School’s athletic director and football coach has been placed on administrative leave.

The Franklin Township Community School Corporation released a statement Thursday saying that Burt Austin was placed on administrative leave with pay effective February 9, pending an investigation.

The school corporation offered little information about what led to Austin being placed on leave, but said that it was a personal matter.

The following statement was issued:

Dr. Flora Reichanadter, Superintendent of Schools, acknowledges that since Mr. Austin is currently the High School Athletic Director and Football Coach and as a result of this personnel action there is a significant amount of interest concerning this matter in the FTCSC school community.  Dr. Reichanadter further stated that she is dedicated that this investigation will be thorough, fair, impartial, and meticulous as possible.
