People line up to buy Powerball tickets, jackpot reaches $317 million

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 4, 2015) — People are lining up across the Hoosier state to buy Powerball tickets. The current jackpot is estimated at $317 million, the biggest prize in nearly a year. The Hoosier Lottery plans to give away 317 tickets in Indianapolis Wednesday.

More than 24,000 winning tickets were sold in Indianapolis last Saturday, but the top prize is still up for grabs.  Players have until 9:58 p.m. Wednesday to buy a Powerball ticket.

Free tickets will be awarded at the Kroger on Crawfordsville Road at noon.

Indiana leads the nation in Powerball jackpot wins at 38. The highest jackpot win was for $314 million.
