Man seriously hurt after being struck by train on Indy’s near southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 3, 2015) – A man was hit by a train on the city’s near southeast side early Tuesday morning. The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. on the train tracks at the intersection of Van Buren St and Linden St. This is near I-65 and E Raymond St.

The man was awake and breathing and suffering from injuries to his legs when emergency crews arrived. He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital.

At this point in time it is unknown as to why the man was on the railroad tracks. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
