INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 17, 2015) — A crew of firefighters is ok after their truck was hit by a suspected intoxicated driver while on their way to a run.

The crew was turning onto Girls School Road from 10th Street just after 1AM Saturday to respond to an apartment fire when  Ladder 84 was hit by an SUV. While the truck was severely damaged in the accident, neither the fire crew nor the driver of the SUV received any injuries. IMPD officers arrested the driver of the SUV on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. His name has not yet been released.

Wayne Township Fire Department spokeperson Mike Pruitt says the run the fire crew was originally responding to was not serious.
