INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 15, 2015) -- A grieving family is strengthening their push to find the person who hit and killed their loved one Antenia Young.
"Our mission is to get justice, because even though we thought we got over the hard part of the funeral, it really hurts knowing that her killer is out here," said Breasiah Redding, Young's sister.
The family spent Wednesday afternoon handing out and taping up fliers. They have Antenia Young's picture on them, a handwritten plea for someone to come forward and a description of the vehicle.
"The description of the car is a dark, black or green Tahoe, Yukon or Suburban. Please help bring us to peace," Redding said.
Peace is something the family hasn't had since the night of December 15, 2014. Investigators with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say Young, 16, and a friend were walking on Franklin Road near East 34th when a driver hit her and didn't stop. That person hasn't been seen since and Young's mother, Khadeeja Smith, hasn't slept since.
"Couple hours a night and we're back up. We just wanna know what happened, you know? That person only knows," Smith said. "You need to turn yourself in and fess up. You made a mistake, it cost my daughter's life."
If you know anything that could help solve this, call IMPD or you can stay anonymous and call Central Indian Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
