INDIANAPOLIS, Ind (JAN. 14, 2015)-- A doctor was arrested Wednesday at his north side practice for allegedly distributing a weight loss pill without a license.
Dr. Pynkerton Dion Newton faces five charges of obtaining and dealing a controlled substance. The drug in question is Phentermine.
DEA agents raided Newton's chiropractic practice on November 17, but charges were dropped days later.
During the November raid, DEA agents recovered two bottles of Phentermine.
Court documents show that Dr. Newton admitted that he had obtained and dispensed phentermine during a recorded DEA interview.
FOX59 spoke with Dr. Newton after his first arrest.
"I know this doesn't mean it's over, it just means that they decided not to prosecute," said Newton.
His hunch was correct, as federal agents returned Wednesday.
"I clearly didn't do it," Newton said in the Nov. interview.
Newton denied the accusations of distributing Phentermine in Nov.
Bond was set at $15,000.
