INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 9, 2015) -- As the Colts prepare to face the Broncos on Sunday, one Denver family is unsure which team wins out.
It doesn't take long to see that David and Tiare Smith are a family divided. A native Hoosier, David moved to Denver 12 years ago, where the two met. At first, Tiare was on board to switch allegiances.
"When we got married, we agreed that I was married into the Colts (family). It was really reignited when we got Peyton," Tiare Smith said.
The Peyton Factor: one every Colts fan knows all too well, David included.
"It was just awkward to see him in commercials and see him in orange and blue as opposed to blue and white," David Smith said.
Plus, his family back home in Indiana are die hards. One of his uncles even passed on an old Peyton Colts bobblehead and Manning's stat sheet as a Colt.
"It was almost like he was passing the torch," Smith said.
Tiare may not be ready to join the blue and white just yet, but there's one little one - eight-month-old Archie - who will certainly know his side.
"He's a Colts fan, no doubt. No Broncos gear on this boy," David Smith said.
Even if his parents can't quite agree.
"It's hard. I think I will be happy with either result," Tiare Smith said.
"Go Colts!" David Smith said.
