Suspect arrested after double homicide in Lafayette; victims identified

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Authorities in Lafayette arrested a man wanted in connection with a double homicide from Thursday night.

According to Lafayette police, two people were found fatally shot around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Eastwich Drive.

Police initially considered 52-year-old Franco Navarrete a “person of interest” in the homicides and asked for public help in locating him. He was found Friday and later arrested on two preliminary charges of murder.

The victims were identified as Catalina Lujano-Campuzano, 67, and Gustavo Sanchez-Campuzan, 38.
