Xavier guard, former Park Tudor star Trevon Bluiett facing possession of marijuana charge
UPDATE (June 12, 2017) — Trevon Bluiett was sentenced to a 12-month diversion program for his April 2017 arrest.
CARMEL, Ind. – Xavier guard Trevon Bluiett was arrested for possession of marijuana Monday afternoon.
Carmel police reportedly observed Bluiett traveling at approximately 75 mph in a 55 mph zone and failed to use a turn signal during a lane change on US 31.
Police stopped Bluiett near the Carmel Drive overpass around 3:30 p.m. During the traffic stop, officers reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Bluiett was taken into custody. He faces a possession of marijuana charge, a class B misdemeanor. He was later transported to the Hamilton County Jail for further processing. His bond was set at $1,000.
Two weeks ago, Bluiett declared for the NBA draft but said he wouldn’t hire an agent, leaving the door open to a return to college. NBADraft.net’s latest mock draft has Bluiett going late in the second round (No. 56 to Brooklyn). DraftExpress.com doesn’t have him being drafted.
The 22-year-old was a standout at Park Tudor. His 2,568 career points at Park Tudor rank sixth all-time in state history, according to our newsgathering partners at The Indianapolis Star.
