Bruno Mars performs ‘Uptown Funk,’ other hits on latest Carpool Karaoke

In the latest edition of “Carpool Karaoke,” James Corden welcomed four-time Grammy winner Bruno Mars to The Late Late Show.

The pair drove around Los Angeles to sing along to some of Mars’ biggest hits, including “Uptown Funk,” “24K Magic,” “Grenade” and “Perm.”

They discussed Mars’ unique fashion sense, with Corden expressing his fascination with Mars’ silk shirt. Mars talked about his affinity for hats after Corden said the singer made just about any hat look good.

“You know where the hats come from? It’s because of this hair–I don’t know what to do with it,” Mars said.

Corden then brought out a hat and said he “looked like an undertaker” while wearing it. He handed it over to Mars, who made it look cool. Corden said the hat made his guest look like Slash from Guns N’ Roses. The host presented Mars with more hats–yet Mars somehow made them all work.

Corden asked Mars how he got into music. Mars said he knew he wanted to have a career in music when he was 4 years old and performed an Elvis impersonation during one of his father’s shows in Hawaii. He even showed off a mean Elvis lip curl and crooned some of Elvis’ “Jailhouse Rock.”

Mars showed Corden some of his impressive “shoulder moves,” and Corden was simply astounded.

“If I start bringing out that sort of shoulder moves, I think I’d be living on my own with a roommate above a gas station,” Corden joked.

The pair discussed what Mars liked in his dressing room, disclosing a few essentials such as booze and wet wipes.

“If I go home with a bottle of wine and some wet wipes, that is a tragic evening for me,” Corden said.

Mars recently announced an 85-city tour that kicks off in Europe on March 28 and opens its North American leg in Las Vegas in July. He’ll perform in Indianapolis at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Aug. 13.
