FORTVILLE, Ind. - It's time for a road trip this winter! You can head northeast to a popular gastropub tucked away on Main Street in Fortville.
FoxGardin offers a casual atmosphere and high quality food that Yelpers say is worth the drive!
"We want people to see how fun this little area is," explains Chef Jake Burgess.
FoxGardin is only a few minutes off I-69 in Fortville. The restaurant opened in July of last year.
"It’s kind of a concept that me and my roommate came up with years and years ago. FoxGardin is a play on my mother’s name. Her maiden name was TeeGardin and Toby’s mom was Fox. So, we want to pay a tribute to moms," says Burgess.

Chef Jake grew up in Fortville, just three blocks away from his restaurant. When designing the space, Burgess wanted to keep the original tin ceilings and wood floors.
"I fell in love with this exact space. It is a high quality of pub food. Our burgers are grown. Steaks are prime grade beef. Everything is fresh. I don’t have freezer. It’s only where I store ice cream. So, what comes in must go out," adds Burgess.
Brittany Smith from Yelp Indy says Yelpers rave about the Hoosier tenderloin. It has a crunchy breading and a lot of fresh toppings. The bartenders will make you any drink you'd like to wash it down with!
Yelpers also suggest ordering a slice of the homemade sugar cream pie. It's baked to a sticky, sweet and buttery-crusted perfection by Chef Jake's mom every morning!
"It cannot get any better and more homemade than that," says Smith.
