Carmel teen reported missing found safe in North Carolina

Madison K. Dammeyer was found in Spruce Pine, N.C., on Dec. 13, 2016, according to the Carmel Police Department. She’s been removed from the Indiana Missing Children’s Clearinghouse Database and no further investigation is required. 

CARMEL, Ind. – Police in Carmel continue to look for a teenager who was reported missing.

Madison K. Dammeyer, 17, was last seen at the Greyhound Bus Station at 150 N. Illinois St. on Nov. 30, 2016, around 7 p.m. She’d purchased tickets to Asheville, N.C., with her boyfriend, Benjamin Sanders, 18. The bus arrived in North Carolina on Dec. 1.

However, Dammeyer called home around 4 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2016, from a business located in Elizabethtown, Tenn.

She was last seen wearing black yoga pants and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, according to Lt. Joe Bickel with Carmel police. Before leaving, she had fake dreadlocks in her hair.
