INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – People who live in the Geist Reservoir area are on alert after they say nearly half a dozen neighbors have had their homes burglarized.

In the surveillance video that you will only see on CBS4, a man wearing a hooded coat and a mask is caught on camera pressing his face up against the front door to make sure no one is home before he breaks a window and climbs inside of the Geist mansion.

“He walked around and looked into the windows and knocked on the door. You can see him shielding his face from the camera. He has gloves on so he does not leave any finger prints,” said the homeowner.

We sat down exclusively with the owners of the home as they reviewed the footage.

“That is the part that makes you fell gross. Someone was in your home, someone went through your things, someone was in your underwear drawer. It is a very uneasy feeling.”

Nearly a dozen security cameras captured the suspect’s every move as he stayed on the property for more than two hours. At one point he crawled up the stairs away from the dog to get into the master bedroom, where he stole dozens of valuables and stuffed them into a pillow case.

“All of my jewelry was kind of out and about and all of the drawers were open,” said the homeowner.

The family says at least five other homes in the Geist neighborhood have been hit within the last month. Another neighbor captured a photo of a man that they believe broke into another home a few doors down and stole thousands of dollars of jewelry from another home.

“It is unfortunately an epidemic over here in a way,” said the homeowner.

Police are still reviewing the tapes and are analyzing the evidence to see if the cases are connected.

The family tells us that they have added more high tech security cameras to ensure that they are safe, but want others to be on the lookout.

“Just never be too comfortable because it could really happen anywhere,” said the homeowner.

If you have any information on this case call IMPD or Fishers police.
