CASTLETON, IND.—Black Friday is full of holiday shoppers seeking the best deals. But with more stores offering Black Friday-esque discounts throughout November, and even into December, there’s less of a rush to go shopping on Black Friday itself.
“If you didn’t get them today, there’s still time to come out” said Leslie Featherson, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Castleton Square Mall, a Simon property.
While some of the biggest savings might come in the form of a “door buster” sale on Black Friday morning, Featherson explained that many Castleton Square stores offer similar deals throughout the holiday shopping season.
“It’s called click and brick, you go online, you do your research, you look at the reviews and you see what you want to buy. Then you come out to the store and actually buy it,” Featherson added.
Castleton Square opened up on Thanksgiving day and into Black Friday morning, closing for a few hours before re-opening at 6:00 a.m.
It was a slow start to the day with a slow but steady stream of customers hitting the mall.
“I’m not going to lie, we did make a spreadsheet of all the different stores and the openings,” said Black Friday shopper Emily Worth, “we had a bit of a game plan.”
While the rush wasn’t as crazed as one might imagine on Black Friday, Castleton Square was full of dedicated shoppers who say they would not miss the opportunity to wake up early and take part in the tradition.
