Football teammates join 8-year-old Indianapolis boy in serving Thanksgiving dinner to those in need

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- An 8-year-old Indianapolis boy spent his Thanksgiving with his football teammates serving dinner to those in need.

Reese Hamilton and the Tab Colts team spent months preparing and organizing their Thanksgiving dinner. In one day, they gave away more than 50 meals.

It was Reese's idea to get Thanksgiving meals prepared including turkey, green beans, and potatoes.

"Not everyone gets hot meals for Thanksgiving, so we wanted to do this, so everyone can have a fair share of meals," said Reese.

Every member of the team has at least a 3.0 GPA or higher. Coach and Tab Colts President Corey Barnett said seeing these kids spending their holiday giving back is an important lesson for them to learn at a young age.

“Seeing them do stuff like this man, that’s only gonna make them better when they get older. It’s only going to make them better when they get older, being able to understand how to give back," said Barnett.

Reese says his next project will be getting blankets to the homeless this winter.

The Tab Colts team is hoping to go to Florida for their national championship game. They need your help to get there, though. Click here if you'd like to donate to help the team.
