Colts kick off busy weekend downtown as they host Steelers in historic Thanksgiving Day matchup

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- This is a historic Thanksgiving for the Indianapolis Colts.

The team is hosting the first-ever Thanksgiving Day game in Indianapolis this year, and thousands of fans are expected to pack Lucas Oil Stadium to see the team battle the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Many of the hotels downtown are booked or have just a few rooms still available.

Fans coming to the game are encouraged to wear all blue for that Colts are calling a “Blue Out.”

Tickets for the game are in high demand. However, Stubhub has a few still available for as low as $54.

There will be two very special guests at Thursday’s game. Colts legends Marvin Harrison and Tony Dungy will honored at halftime. Both will get their NFL Hall of Fame rings in a special ceremony.

“It’ll be a really neat opportunity for fans to recognize those two Colts greats recognize their achievements and share that special moment with them at halftime,” said Stephanie Pemberton, senior director of marketing for the Indianapolis Colts.

The rest of the holiday weekend will continue to be busy downtown. Friday a massive crowd is expected to gather on Monument Circle for the Circle of Lights tree lighting. The Indiana Pacers also have a home game that night.

Also this weekend, high school football is taking over Lucas Oil Stadium on both Friday and Saturday.
