Students to be disciplined after THC-laced lollipops are found at Indiana high school

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. – Multiple students at a northern Indiana high school are facing discipline after they were reportedly caught with lollipops laced with highly concentrated THC.

Officials with West Noble High School alerted authorities after they discovered a transaction involving the “suspicious” lollipops last Thursday.

An initial investigation by Noble County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Chordas indicated the cherry flavored suckers were indeed laced with marijuana, but confirmatory tests will be conducted after the lollipops are tested by the Indiana State Police laboratory.

The sheriff’s department says the early indication is that the THC levels of the lollipops are more than likely higher than from normal marijuana, giving them the potential for a stronger “high” when consumed.

Deputy Chordas would like all parents to be aware of these cannabis candies, because they look very similar to normal lollipops.

“A child could easily consume one of these without anyone realizing what it actually is,” the sheriff’s department in a Facebook post. “Also, anytime something is laced with chemicals there is always the potential for an adverse reaction or unintended side effect that could lead to serious health problems.”

Anyone with questions or concerns should contact their local police department.
