INDIANAPOLIS - Did Democrats ignore the Rust Belt to their ruin in this year's election?
That's the question we posed to Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN), who's been sounding off this week about a local company's decision to relocate.
Rexnord Bearings has officially decided to move forward with its plans to have 300 union jobs and 75-80 supervisory jobs moved to Mexico.
It's an issue President-elect Donald Trump seized upon after Indianapolis-based Carrier announced a similar move earlier this year.
Donnelly seemed to suggest it was an issue that Democrats should also have looked at more closely.
"I told a number of folks that if we focus on the hard working families in the industrial Midwest, we'll do just fine," said Donnelly.
Donnelly was also asked about the Trump transition, and his thoughts on Trump's choice for attorney general, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee with Donnelly.
"We’ve had a great working relationship," said Donnelly. "But I’m very concerned about some of the comments that have come up that he’s made before so I’m going to review the record and consider it carefully."
