Police investigate early morning shooting on city’s east side
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating after a person was shot on the city’s east side.
According to police, they received a call of a male shot from the area of the 200 block of north Shortridge Avenue. En route to that location they then received a call that a male had come into the Kroger store at 10th and Shadeland Avenue with a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival they found a 28-year-old male with a gunshot to his left forearm. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Police then proceeded to the Abbey Meadows Apartments on North Shortridge Road where the victim told police he had been shot. There they located a female who reportedly had been involved in the shooting. That person has been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
