One person critical in north side shooting
INDIANAPOLIS — Metro Police say a man is in critical condition after being shot twice outside some shops on the city’s near north side.
Police dispatchers say they received multiple calls of shots being fired in the area of 38th Street and North Meridian Street around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
When police arrived they found a man suffering from two gunshot wounds . Medics transported the victim to Eskenazi Hospital where he is reported to be in critical condition.
A handgun was recovered nearby in the street. Crime scene tape surrounded J’s Food Mart on the west side of Meridian and the T-Mobile store on the east side of Meridian.
Investigators were gathering evidence and talking to witnesses in an effort to determine what led up to the shooting.
