Rain and cooler air are moving in

With a high of 78 degrees, Indianapolis tied a 55-year old record. After a record setting day, get ready for a cool down. An approaching cold front will bring rain and a few t-storms this evening. The heaviest rain will fall north of I-70. A few showers will linger into Thursday morning and temperatures will be near seasonal levels through the weekend. In the long-range outlook there is a chance of rain for Election Day.


So far this has been a mild fall.


Wednesday was our 45th day this fall with a high of at least 70 degrees.


We tied the record high on Wednesday.


We lose 45 minutes of daylight during November and the average high drops by fourteen degrees.


Rain will move into northwest Indiana this evening.






A few showers will linger into Thursday morning.


Up to a half-inch of rain is likely with this weather system.


Sunshine will returns as high pressure builds this weekend.


A cold front will bring a few rain to the area on Election Day.
