RICHMOND, Ind. – The Libertarian candidate for Indiana governor was admitted to a hospital Wednesday evening, according to his campaign.

The publication says Bell remained conscious and communicative while emergency medical personnel worked with him, before he was taken to Reid Health for further treatment.

Bell’s wife, Susan, and family members were reportedly with him at Reid. At this time, it’s unclear what exactly caused him to become ill.

Bell’s campaign posted the following statement to their Facebook page regarding the incident:

Bell’s Republican opponent, Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb released the following statement:

Democrat John Greg released a statement on Twitter:

On behalf of the Gregg family and the entire campaign, we are praying for Rex Bell & his family tonight.
