Man sentenced in connection with 18-year-old Anderson man’s fatal shooting
UPDATE (Nov. 8, 2017)– Tyrone Jones was sentenced to five years for assisting a criminal that committed murder. Two years will be executed in a location to be determined by the continuum of sanctions program. The remaining three years will be served on probation.
ANDERSON, Ind.– Police in Anderson say two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting of an 18-year-old man.
Last week, Officers were called to the 1800 block of West 21st Street around 5:20 p.m., where they found a teenager dead near the home’s driveway. He was identified as Shaolin Newsom, 18.
On Oct. 28, police arrested Tyrone Jones, 17, in connection with the case. He is facing a murder charge and will be tried as an adult. They had been searching for a person of interest, 17-year-old Jalen Brown, as well.
On Monday night, police took Brown into custody and he was preliminarily charged with murder.
He was booked into the Madison County Detention Center.
