INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. An Indianapolis boy dreams of changing his neighborhood are growing and growing.

First, Reece Hamilton brought dozens of people together for a peace walk.

“It was fun that I got to celebrate what I wanted the community to see,” said Reece.

Now the 8-year-old is reaching out to help the less fortunate during the holidays.

Reece  is only in the third grade, but he’s proving to all of us, that age is nothing but a number.

“I need help to get stuff that I need for Thanksgiving and Christmas,” said Reece before his youth football practice.

Reece and his mom plan to make Thanksgiving meals for those who need them and collect blankets at Christmas for the homeless.

He’s already started reaching out to neighbors, teammates and friends, asking for donations. Just like the walk, he knows he can’t do it alone.

“It would be really hard because it’s just one me,” said Reece.

Last time, his teammates were the biggest and loudest supporters of his peace walk. Now he’s counting on them to help spread the word about his plan to tackle hunger and poverty too.

“I just hope an 8-year-old boy doing something that big would change their feelings and heart,” said Reece.

If you’d like to help Reece achieve his goals by donating canned goods or blankets and toiletries, you can contact him at reese.blueribbon@yahoo.com. His mother is helping him respond to each and every email.

You can also donate to his GoFundMe account, which has raised $450 since the peace walk for his anti-violence and community improvement efforts.
