INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Patients at Riley Hospital for Children got a special treat Monday as the nurses held a reverse trick-or-treat event for the kids hospitalized on Halloween.
“It made me feel better, because I’m in the hospital and I can’t go trick-or-treating," 11-year-old patient Princeton Cookvann said.
This is the sixth year for the event and the nurses said it not only brightens patients' days, but also their own.
“It makes it worth it working on Halloween," Riley Hospital nurse Abbey McDonough said. " It’s so fun to take care of them and see them happy and dressed up. They enjoy the day a lot."
Parents of the patients also appreciated the gesture.
“I think it’s wonderful. Everything they do for the kids. This is our first experience at this actual hospital so it’s been wonderful," Mohter Marie Moore said.
