Police: 16-year-old Indy student threatened officers with shiv, had baggie of cocaine
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police arrested a juvenile this week who allegedly threatened another student, along with faculty and officers at a local alternative high school.
The incident occurred at The Excel Center, located at 1635 West Michigan Street around 1 p.m. Monday.
According to police, the 16-year-old male student made a shiv from a pencil and threatened officers with it.
The student was disarmed and resisted officers. Police also found a baggie on him with more than six grams of suspected cocaine after transporting him to the Juvenile Intake Facility.
He was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance, battery on a public safety official, intimidation and resisting law enforcement.
