Lisa Gray had been frustrated with her lips for some time. She’d used fillers to diminish lines and give her a fuller lip. But the effect never lasted. Just recently she tried new lip line filler called Volbella,
“I’m hoping this lasts,” Gray told CBS4.
Dr. Mark Hamilton believes Gray will get her wish. He’s used line fillers on his patients for years. Volbella is the newest version. And so far, he’s pleased.
“Volbella is really another iteration of the hyaluronic acid fillers that are made from substances natural to your body,” says Hamilton. “It’s not something foreign. It just fills in lines, creases, grooves for a period of time. And the nice thing is, you can see the results right away. These products are much tolerated and they’re actually reversible.”
According to the website, what makes Volbella unique is its patented Vycross Technology. It reportedly produces greater lift capacity and has longer lasting results. Eighty percent of patients, according to a company-led study, were still satisfied with their results after one year. Previous lip fillers might last six months. Additionally Volbella is a softer, smoother gel that allows for easier injection.
The procedure for injecting Volbella is the same for other line fillers. The patient’s lips are numbed up to 30 minutes before the procedure. Hamilton injects the area underneath the line or crease, the Volbella pushes it up and out. Volbella can also be used for lip enhancement.
Terre Bosso also had Volbella injected into her lips.
“It’s a little bit of pressure and a real hard pinch,” says Bosso of the procedure.
Right now, Volbella is only approved for use in lip lines, but Hamilton expects it could be used for other problem areas, like crow’s feet.
The cost is between $300 and $400.
