Bank to reopen Saturday after SUV crashes, ends up inside

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A BMO Harris Bank damaged earlier this week when an SUV crashed through the wall and ended up inside will reopen Saturday.

The crash happened around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at the BMO Harris Bank located in the 7600 block of North Shadeland Avenue.

The Indianapolis Fire Department and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene.

IFD said the driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and went through the front of the bank. The woman, believed to be in her 70s, went to an area hospital to be checked out but was not hurt.

IFD said a bank worker got up to get coffee minutes before the SUV crashed into the bank and hit his desk.
