Man charged after drunk-driving crash that killed passenger in Henry County
NEW CASTLE, Ind. – A Wayne County man faces charges in connection with a drunk-driving crash that killed a New Castle woman.
Dusty Dunaway, 24, Milton, is charged with causing death when operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a Level 5 felony.
The crash happened on April 24, 2016 in the 3500 block of south 350 East in New Castle. According to court documents, Dunaway was driving a Jeep Cherokee when he failed to make a turn; the vehicle rolled four times and ended up in a field.

His passenger, Megan M. Hughes, 24, was thrown from the vehicle and died from her injuries. According to court documents, Dunaway told police he was drunk and said his license was suspended and advised that police should take him to jail.
Tests showed Dunaway’s blood alcohol content was 0.108, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08, court documents said. The charge carries a three-year sentence.
