Three arrested after search turns up cash, firearms and narcotics
INDIANAPOLIS–Packages of marijuana and cash being shipped through the mail is what prompted local Narcotics and Vice detectives to set up a buy and take down three suspects Saturday.
The initial tips about the drug operation came from the DEA and U.S. Postal service. The local investigation led officers to a northeast side apartment in the 5800 block of Bywood Drive. Those apartments are just south of Graham Road and Binford Boulevard.
Armed with a search warrant, detectives discovered $32.901 in cash, one shotgun and two handguns, 12 pounds of marijuana, 36 grams of heroin, and an edible form of marijuana.
Officers also found ledgers showing multiple deposits, one was reported to be for $270,000.
Police arrested 50-year-old Dwayne Tubbs, 33-year-old Jeremy Martin, and 32-year-old Kelsey Henderson.
All three were charged with dealing and possession of narcotics.
The Marion County Prosecutor’s office will review the case and make a final charging decision.
