Men try to steal Riley Donation boxes from southwest side Kroger
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Two men who tried to steal donation boxes meant for kids at Riley Hospital for Children were apprehended by police early this morning.
This happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Kroger on 5173 West Washington Street. That’s on the southwest side of Indianapolis.
Police took one of the men, Melvin Adams, into custody. He’s charged with Intimidation and Resisting Law enforcement. The other man was arrested on a warrant.
Neither man took items from Kroger itself.
The plastic donation boxes are placed throughout the city and help support pediatric research, educational opportunities for physician and medical students, and new technologies for Riley.
