Early voting underway across Indiana

Election day 2015

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Early voting is now underway in our state. It’s the first day, and already voters were lining-up at the Marion County Clerk’s Office before it opened.

Officials are saying, the sooner you vote, the better — with about 4.7 million voters in Indiana and a strong turnout expected, it’s good to take advantage of the early voting window.

“Everyone is just really excited and that’s a good thing for Marion County, so we’re really pleased to see Marion County voters are paying attention and that they are participating in democracy,” said Marion County Clerk Myla Eldridge.

Early voting in Marion County runs now through November 7th at 12 p.m. You can visit the clerk’s office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week, or from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.

The deadline for absentee by mail applications in our state is October 31st.

Democratic Candidate for Governor John Gregg was there to help kick off early voting outside the City County Building. He’ll be voting in Knox County.

Trump-Pence Indiana Chairman Rex Early was at the City-County Building casting his ballot.
