A major cool down is on the way.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will bring up to a half-inch of rain Wednesday evening.  Winds may gust 30 to 40 miles per hour as  the storms move through. The rain has developed ahead of a cold front that will move across the state overnight. Back behind the front cooler temperatures will be with us for the end of the work week. We will have a chilly night with temps in the 50s for the final regular season games on Football Friday Night. Temperatures will moderate over the weekend and near record heat will come to central Indiana early next week.


Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely by 7pm.


Rain is likely in Indianapolis through 9pm.


Rain will begin to weaken by 11pm.


Light rainfall amounts are likely across central Indiana this evening.


We'll have a cool, dry Thursday.


We'll have a cool, dry Friday.


Temperatures will moderate by Saturday with highs in the mid-70s.


We'll have a chance for a few isolated showers on Sunday with a high near 80.


Expect much warmer weather with near record highs in the mid-80s early next week.
