Lafayette police will hold self-defense class for women
LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Lafayette Police Department is providing a R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) class for women this month.
The class is hosted at the Lafayette Police Training Center, 1301 South Street, and will be held October 22 and 23 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics, and techniques for women.
The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on, defense training.
Lafayette police say the courses are taught by nationally certified R.A.D. instructors.
The minimum age to attend the program is 13-years-old. The program is $10, and you can register here.
