MADISON COUNTY, Ind. – A Madison County man was arrested Monday after he allegedly beat a woman and tied up her wrists and ankles up with duct tape.
Officers say the incident happened Sunday night at a home on County Road 875 South.
At one point, officers say the suspect, Thomas Lee Stone, 28, pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the victim’s head.
At some point during the night, the woman was able to leave the home, but she did not call police and she returned Monday morning. That’s when she says Stone battered her again, then brandished an AR 15 rifle and made statements indicating he would harm himself.
The victim called authorities and deputies arrived around 11 a.m. They were able to talk briefly to Stone on the phone, but he would not speak for more than a few minutes at a time.
A warrant was obtained and with the help of acquaintances from Stone’s church, he was taken into custody.
Stone now faces charges of pointing a firearm, criminal confinement, intimidation and domestic battery.
