Police find truck believed to be involved in hit-and-run crash that injured grandmother, child
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Indianapolis Metropolitan police said they found the truck believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a grandmother and her grandchild last week.
The incident happened on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the 4400 block of West Washington Street.
The grandmother was pushing a stroller across Washington Street when a pickup truck going westbound from Fleming Street hit them and drove off. The child was ejected from the stroller and went to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition.
IMPD said it was looking for a black 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab (four doors), with possible gray trim on the lower portion of body and a chrome front bumper. Investigators said the truck would likely have damage to front portion of the driver’s side.
