BEECH GROVE, Ind. – Police are looking for the vandals behind spray painted property in a Beech Grove neighborhood.

Earlier this week, homeowners woke up to find their cars and garages tagged with graffiti.

“No, it’s not fun and games. It’s destruction,” said homeowner David Webb.

Red and neon orange symbols were plastered on property near South 6th Street. The vandals hit 75-year-old Linda Leffler’s car, which is parked right outside her home.

“I hate it that people would do something like that to someone else,” said Leffler.

A community-based school on Main Street wasn’t safe from the spree. The back mural of Second Chance-The Crossings, a school for troubled kids, is now ruined.

“Get out there and do something constructive with your life. We don’t need this in in our community,” said Mary Bailey.

Beech Grove Police don’t believe the graffiti is gang-related.  Detectives are still trying to figure out exactly how many properties the vandals hit.

Webb’s blue garage now has unwanted touches of red, but he’s more worried about his family’s safety than the spray paint.

“Well, if my wife were to come out and come around the corner and she sees them painting or something and says something, If they’re silly enough to do something like that what would they do to her in a wheelchair, that kind of stuff bothers me,” said Webb.

Webb doesn’t want the vandals to help clean the graffiti.  He just wants an apology.

“It’s a shame,” he said.

If you know anything that could help police track the vandals, call the Beech Grove police at 317-782-4949.
