Body of man identified after apparent drowning in White River
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Police say a man died Saturday after an apparent drowning on the south side of Indianapolis.
Officers responded to the White River near the intersection of West Thompson Road and Sandhurst Drive just before 11 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that 46-year-old Pau Mang was fishing with others when they saw him go under the water and not resurface.
Divers went into the river and located Mang after seven minutes of searching, according to fire officials. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this death but say at this time, they do not believe foul play is involved.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine exact cause of death.
