FISHERS, Ind. -- Hamilton County residents woke up Sunday morning to find a disturbing message from the KKK in their front yard.

Hundreds and hundreds of fliers apparently passed out overnight were found in several neighborhoods in Fishers and Noblesville.

Inside the bag contained a rock and a one page message from the United Northern and Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

The recruitment message titled, "What will you tell your children?" blames Gays, Blacks, Latinos and Asians for desecration of America.

“I opened it and I was just kind of emotional and upset right away that somebody would do that and that they were in our neighborhood,” said one Fishers resident.

According to the group’s website, its members are non-violent, but residents tell CBS4 they are not putting their trust in the Klan.

“I mean I know the KKK still exists, I’ve never known that it’s still that close to home. That it’s here. Right outside my house. They were driving by and dropping these things off. It’s disgusting to me,” said Tricia Grabinski.

“Definitely upsetting that there are still people who feel that way and spread that message,” said another neighbor.

The Fishers Police Department received several calls about the messages, but said no crime was committed. Police are not investigating the reports, but they encourage residents to report suspicious or unusual activity.
