This is, on the average, the hottest time of the year for central Indiana and right on cue, here comes our heatwave. A long string of 90-degree days will begin Thursday and last through Tuesday. It won't be just the heat but also the humidity will be a factor. A heat advisory has been issued for the region for Friday and Saturday. Expect a heat index over 100 each day through race weekend.
So far central Indiana has had nine, 90-degree days this summer.
