Sheriff: Indiana woman arrested for trying to hire someone to kill her husband
GRANT COUNTY, Ind. – A Grant County woman was arrested Friday after investigators say she attempted to hire someone to kill her husband.
April Bosworth, 33, began texting an acquaintance Thursday, asking if she knew of anyone who could “take care of her husband,” says Detective Sergeant Shelby Taylor. The acquaintance later called the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and investigators continued the text conversation.
Taylor says Bosworth agreed to meet a person at a BP gas station at 2 a.m. Friday. That person was actually an undercover narcotics officer. At that meeting, Taylor says Bosworth hired the officer to kill her husband for an undisclosed amount of money.
Bosworth was stopped for not having a valid license plate a short time later and was brought in for questioning. After several interviews, she was brought before a judge and charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
Bosworth is being held in the Grant County Jail with bond set at $250,000.
Investigators did not disclose what the rift was between the couple, other than saying that there were several factors, including stressful issues.
