Severe storms possible today
We have an active weather day ahead of us! Most of Central Indiana is in a SLIGHT risk from the Storm Prediction Center for severe storms today. Damaging winds will be our primary threat, should storms become severe.
There will be a lull in in the precipitation from 11am to 4pm. This will allow the atmosphere to reload and become unstable again (after morning storms.) After 4pm with daytime heating more storms will fire up. We’ll keep the chance for some of those to become strong-severe with possible damaging wind gusts until ~11pm.
We hang onto a daily storm chance through Friday. Some of those storms may also reach severe limits on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Once the front clears the region on Friday night we’ll see a drop in the heat and humidity just in time for the weekend.
