Police: Gas station robbery suspect pushes clerk before stealing cash from drawer

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Police in Lafayette are looking for a suspect after a robbery at a Speedway gas station.

Lafayette police said the robbery happened around 2:10 a.m. Sunday at the Speedway gas station located at 1901 Elmwood Ave. The man walked around the counter, pushed the clerk and then took money from the cash drawer, police said.

Witnesses said the man then ran out of the store with some cash and headed south on North 19th Street toward Salem Street. Police searched the area with a K-9 but didn’t locate the man.
