Officers pull Bedford man’s body from creek in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ind.– Conservation officers say the body of a Bedford man was pulled from Salt Creek in Oolitic on Monday.

Police were called to Salt Creek around 10:15 a.m. on a report of a person struggling in the water behind a residence near the 1100 block of Lafayette Avenue.

The victim, identified as a 36-year-old Lloyd Wilson, was recovered around 11 a.m. in about four feet of water.

Officers are investigating the reasoning for the victim to be in the water at this location and what events could have caused him to go under the surface of the water.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
